Household linen,
what wears out fastest

In a rental villa, nothing ages as fast as the linen: hot washes, fast drying, weekly turnover. It is the only purchase in the house that has to be thought of as a fleet, with its spare sets.

L’Effet Papillon — bed linen

L’Effet Papillon — Bed, bath and outdoor linen. Linen, cotton gauze, percale and organic cotton.

The house

A French brand born of an observation about quality

L’Effet Papillon was founded in 2020 in Roanne, in the Loire, by professionals of conventional bed linen. The starting point: the sector’s falling quality and excessive packaging.

The name states the programme — every small gesture has large-scale repercussions. In practice that gives named and documented materials, a stance on responsible consumption, and prices that stay bearable when several bedrooms have to be equipped.

The ranges

Four families, named materials

Every collection carries the name of its material as much as of its pattern. That is what lets you rebuild an identical set three years later, or own a deliberate mix.

Why this brand here

Six criteria for the linen
of a villa that lets

It is not the same purchase as for your own bedroom. This is what we look at with an owner or a manager.

  • Drying
The number one criterionIn this climate, linen that dries slowly moulds between two lets. Gauze and percale dry fast; heavy satin far less so.
  • Washing
Hot, and oftenThe linen of a rental villa goes through the machine every week. Colour hold matters as much as fibre hold.
  • Weight
Towels: neither too much nor too littleA towel at 600 g/m² is comfortable and still dries. Beyond that it stays damp all day in this humidity.
  • Sets
Three per bed, minimumOne in place, one in the wash, one in reserve. It is the calculation that avoids an emergency purchase in high season.
  • Continuity
Rebuilding a setA lost pillowcase should not condemn the whole set. We check the collection stays available.
  • Materials
Linen, gauze, percaleLinen and gauze improve with washing and age well. Those are the two registers we push here.

Best-sellers

What we recommend here

The materials that take the climate, the frequent washing and the drying — and those that improve wash after wash.

Ordering and delivery

Linen is counted in sets

A bed that turns over every week needs three sets, not one. It is the calculation nobody makes before opening a villa to rental.

Fleet
Three sets per bed: one in place, one in the wash, one in reserve
Dimensions
European and American mattress sizes differ — we check them before ordering
Storage
Linen stored in a closed villa takes up damp. A cover and a ventilated place, not a sealed cupboard
Lead time
Immediate from stock; 4 to 6 weeks from France for the rest
Reordering
One pillowcase does not condemn a set: we check availability collection by collection
