Levantina owns its quarries and its factories. Between the block extracted and the slab laid on your site there is no trader: that is what explains both the traceability of the block and the price.

A producer, not a stone reseller

Levantina extracts and processes in its own quarries and factories: marble, granite, quartzite and limestone. It is a rare position in stone, where most players buy their blocks from third parties.

In practice that means a block can be reserved, several slabs obtained from the same veining, and their origin known. In a villa where the worktop, the splashback and the bathroom must answer each other, it is the only way to proceed.

Five families, one origin

The collections differ by material and by finish, not by supplier: everything comes from the company’s own quarries and plants. The fifth is not stone — it is the porcelain that takes over where stone will not go.

Techlam — architectural surfaces

The house’s large-format porcelain, 3200 × 1600 mm in three thicknesses (6, 12 and 20 mm). Six collections — Industrial, Stone, Wood, Vulcano, Hydra, Basic — plus Techlam TOP for worktops. This is the answer when natural stone is not the right call: a ventilated façade in salt air, a kitchen worktop, a high-traffic lobby floor. The slab is non-combustible, impervious and UV-stable, and a Techlam façade comes apart panel by panel after a hurricane.

Six points about stone
in a tropical climate

Natural stone is superb and alive. It demands trade-offs that ceramic does not. Here they are.

  • Porosity
    The first trade-offA porous marble in the kitchen of a rental villa stains in the first week. Quartzite or granite answer better.
  • Finish
    Honed rather than polishedPolished marks and slips. In this climate, on a floor or a pool surround, honed is almost always the right choice.
  • Treatment
    Sealer, to be renewedA treatment is redone every two to three years depending on use. To be told to the client beforehand, not when the stain appears.
  • Block reservation
    For unity of veiningA matching worktop, splashback and bathroom mean slabs from the same block. That is reserved, not improvised.
  • Pool surround
    Slip resistance and saltChlorine and salt attack certain limestones. The choice of material is made knowingly.
  • Weight
    Structure and handlingStone is heavy. That concerns the freight, but also the slab and the site access. We check it on the plan.

The block, the setting-out, the weight

Stone is not ordered like tiling. Three points decide the result, and they are settled before the order.

Block reservation
Necessary as soon as you want unity of veining across several rooms — to be launched very early
Setting-out
Drawn before cutting: that is where offcuts are saved and the veins are placed
Weight
Check site access and load-bearing: a stone slab is not carried by two people
Lead time
8 to 12 weeks from Spain, longer with a block reservation
Treatment
Sealer supplied with the order, and to be renewed every two to three years
